Day 5: Hermann Park

By: Abby Lynn

Today we spent the majority of our day at Hermann Park. Our morning was spent splitting off
into groups to practice nature photography before our Austin trip. This allowed us to play with lighting,
aperture and shutter speed on our cameras to account for the light differences. We found, as the day
went on, that the lighting changed as the sun rose and our camera settings had to change with it.

After lunch in the park, we then moved on to motion capture shots. This allowed us to practice
changing our shutter speeds to cause different effects in our photos. A faster shutter speed
captures photos mid-action while a slower shutter speed adds blur. Overall, we got the
opportunity to practice many skills that will help us during the Austin trip.
